Walter Scott pinot noirs are among our favorites at the Lodge, and we are delighted to welcome founders Ken Pahlow and Erica Landon for a special winemaker dinner on Aug. 10.
Ken and Erica are a husband-wife team who founded their winery in 2008 after years of working in Oregon’s wine industry. They emptied their small savings and traded labor for space at Patricia Green Cellars to make their first cases. Their story “is one of essentially risking everything to pursue their dream,” said Neal Martin in The Wine Advocate.
Today, their winery nestled in the Eola-Amity Hills in the Central Willamette Valley produces elegant pinot noir and chardonnay that are turning heads across the wine world for their elegance and precision. Neal called the 2014 vintage “just killer pinot noir with purity, intensity and personality…if you have not tried these wines yet, do yourself a favor.”
Chef Carl Krause will be preparing a special dinner for the evening, and Ken and Erica will pour complimentary tastings of their wines. Dinner is $100. If you would like to join us, all you have to do is book a room. This event will fill up quickly; early reservations are recommended.
