Whitewater rafting near the Minam River Lodge

If you are coming from a distance to visit the Lodge, you may want to consider checking out some of the other great destinations and activities in the region during your trip.

A fun and historic place to spend a few nights before or after the Lodge is the Wallowa Lake Lodge. The Lodge, which is located six miles south of Joseph on Wallowa Lake, was purchased by a consortium of local investors in 2016 to preserve it as an affordable, family-friendly inn. It more than lives up to its reputation as a great base for a few days of scenic hiking, kayaking, or riding the tram 3,700 feet up Mt. Howard.

Hells Canyon National Recreation Area boasts North America’s deepest river gorge, with world-class rafting on the Snake River. We can help arrange charter flights directly between the Lodge and your take-in or take-out point. We work with select local outfitters, including:

Eastern Oregon is full of great road trips, agritourism opportunities, bicycling adventures and brewpubs. Here are some helpful links:

Another great option to consider is a visit to wine country in Walla Walla, Wash. Located about 80 miles from Cove, where you would likely start your hike into the Lodge, Walla Walla is home to more than 100 wineries and has been described in The New York Times as “Napa in blue jeans.”

If you are looking for a place to stay in Walla Walla, we recommend Ken and Ginger Harrison’s Abeja Winery and Inn:

We can easily arrange charter air travel between Walla Walla and the Lodge.
